Area description and history
Carmel Valley
is a series of new developments including
an area called North City West, and is the
first suburb area you reach travelling north
after the 805 and 5 merge. It features new
streets, newer schools, an new freeway and
a central location. There are lots of developments
which are still under construction, with
a major new phase due to begin construction
in the next 2 years. There are many good
restaurants, a new community center with
pools and courts and open space with trails
for hiking and horseback riding. There are
larger 4 and 5 bedroom houses perched high
up on hillsides featuring 3 car garages
with nice views.

years there was virtually no development
in this valley until the 1980's, and was
home to a nursery and a few farms and ranches.
